Modified rice starch is an ultra-fine white powder that has been developed specifically for use in cosmetics. It is a multifunctional cosmetic ingredient derived from rice starch that provides various skin and hair care benefits. This natural starch derivative is known for its absorbent and mattifying properties, making it ideal for oil control products. It is added to cosmetic products to improve texture and consistency, making them smoother and lighter on the skin.

When applied to the skin , it does not clog pores and has very good adhesion. It is opaque. It mixes very well with other powders. Due to its microcrystalline texture, rice powder leaves a velvety skin impression. It is mainly used in powders, make-up, dry shampoos and other products designed to reduce shine and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

It has a pH of 5.5 which is similar to our skin and therefore does not irritate it. When stored in a sealed container in a dry place at room temperature, it will last up to 5 years.
Insoluble but miscible with water, it swells in hot water.
