If you've avoided using petroleum jelly in cosmetics because of its mineral oil, paraffin or other petrochemical content, now you don't have to. Vegeline is a plant-based alternative to traditional petroleum jelly.
Vegeline vegetable petroleum jelly consists of a blend of vegetable oils and waxes that create a texture similar to traditional petroleum jelly, but on a purely natural base. The base of Vegeline Vegetable Vaseline is castor oil and carnauba wax. They make this petroleum jelly a great emollient for your beauty products.
The main roles of petroleum jelly are that it reduces transepidermal water loss from the skin, at the same time it creates ait also creates a protective barrier on the skin, which enhances the treatment properties of cosmetic products and prolongs the effect of their action. It spreads very well and leaves a feeling on the skin like vegetable butters, it is less greasy than conventional petroleum jelly.
In addition, Vegeline is naturally water-resistant, non-irritating and non-comedogenic (does not clog pores), making it a vegetable petroleum jellyis much more compatible with the skin than petrochemical-based products, while leaving no sticky feeling after application. Vegetable petroleum jelly is also appreciated as a thickener in the oil phase of various products, thanks to Vegeline you can adjust the viscosity and thus the texture and consistency of the finished products. Vaseline is added to the oil phase, it is highly resistant to oxidation. It can be combined with other emollients (such as vegetable butters and waxes). The recommended dosage ranges from 1% to 50% of the product.Vegeline can be used in skin and body creams as an emollient, as well as in hair cosmetics, where it can serve as a basic raw material for the production of waxes, gels, nourishing shampoos or conditioners. It can also be used as a moisturising ingredient in lip products (lipsticks and balms), as well as in other decorative cosmetics, especially in make-up and make-up bases. Vegetable petroleum jelly can also be used in sunscreens or after-sun moisturising products.
