Bath salt is an ideal way to give yourself some relaxation while also supporting the health of your skin. Do you want to turn your bath into a true wellness experience? We have prepared three different recipes for you that you can easily try at home — treat yourself to a well-deserved moment of rest and care for your body.

Choose the soothing lavender, the energising citrus or the luxurious rose bath salt.

About this recipe

Three simple bath salt recipes put together by the Handymade team. Each blend consists of two phases — phase A (salts and dried flowers) and phase B (vegetable and essential oil) — and you mix it at home in a single bowl.

Soothing lavender salt helps release stress and prepares you for a peaceful sleep. Energising citrus salt is packed with the refreshing scent of orange, lemon and grapefruit, which awakens your senses. Luxurious rose salt, with the scent of roses and delicate petals, is an ideal choice for relaxing after a demanding day or as a romantic self-care ritual.

Key ingredients in the recipe

All three recipes are based on natural salts, complemented by dried flowers and a small amount of vegetable and essential oil.

Epsom salt

Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate) is part of both the soothing lavender and the energising citrus blend — it makes up 23 % and 26 % of the batch respectively.

Himalayan salt

Coarse Himalayan salt makes up 70 % of the citrus blend; finely ground Himalayan salt is the base of the luxurious rose salt (60 %).

Sea salt

Coarse sea salt makes up 75 % of the soothing lavender blend; finely ground sea salt complements the rose salt (29 %).

Essential oil, lavender

The essential oil gives each blend its characteristic scent — lavender in the soothing salt, a blend of lemon, orange and grapefruit in the citrus one, and rose geranium in the rose salt.

Formulations (100 g)

The percentages of the individual ingredients relate to the total weight of the batch. With each formulation you will find a shopping list that recalculates the amounts for your chosen batch size automatically.

To work out the weight of each ingredient, simply decide on the batch size you want (e.g. 500 g) and use the percentages to calculate the amount of each ingredient:

  • Amount = (total weight × percentage) / 100

For example, for a 500 g batch of the soothing lavender salt:
