80% lactic acid is an acid produced by fermentation and is of vegetable origin.
It is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) acid that smoothes and rejuvenates the skin, promotes cell renewal and improves skin elasticity. It is a milder alternative to the use of glycolic acid in cosmetics. It is also often used to adjust the pH of cosmetic products and thus improve their stabilisation.
It is suitable for both skin and hair products, and is added to shampoos to increase the shine of the hair.It also acts as a chemical peeling agent (similar to other AHAs - malic, citric and tartaric acids).It is particularly suitable for older and mature skin.Lactic acid is soluble in water, glycerin and alcohol, it is added to the aqueous phase of the product after cooling.It is produced by a fermentation process and is plant-derived, so it is also suitable for vegans.Products containing AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) acids may cause increased sensitivity to the sun.This is a food grade product packaged in a non-food establishment.DosageLactic acid is added dropwise to the final product to lower the pH. It is also necessary to measure the pH of the 10% solution before and after application. If further adjustment is needed, another drop is added, etc. The lactic acid is not diluted but is used to lower the pH of the final product.
All raw materials supplied are cosmetic grade, not suitable for internal use. Please use appropriate protective equipment when handling. Raw material safety grade according to EWG: 1-4 (depending on the level of use).
HOW TO DILUTE LACTIC ACID
If you want to mix a different concentration, follow the formula:
X = (desired concentration 0.5 for 50% x amount you want to mix in g or ml)/original concentration 0.8 for 80%
To make 100 g of 50% concentration from 80% acid, the formula will look like this:
X=(0.5x100)/0.8
X=62,5
So to get 100 g of 50% solution you will need 62.5 g of 80% acid and 37.5 g of water.
To get an accurate result, we recommend weighing the raw materials and not measuring them.
