Guar gum or also Guarana gum is a fiber extracted from guar beans from the Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba plant. It is used as an emulsifier or thickener (referred to as E412 in the food industry) because it increases the viscosity of water in very small quantities.

It is very often used in body or facial cleansers, shampoos, and can be used in any product that contains a lot of water.
However, when using it, be aware that it turns transparent solutions opaque and can cause a sticky feeling on the skin.

Guar gum has a high pH (> 9). In order to thicken a solution containing guar gum, the pH must be < 7. Add a small amount of citric acid to achieve a lower pH and the solution will thicken.

Our guar gum is made from pure natural guar beans and no chemicals or other substances are used in its production.
