Glyceryl Caprylate/Caprate (Glyceryl Caprylate/Caprate) is a highly effective cosmetic additive derived from vegetable oils, which stands out for its multifunctional properties. This substance is composed of glycerol esters and caprylic and capric acids, offering exceptional moisturizing, emulsifying and antimicrobial properties.

It is a natural surfactant that stabilizes foam and increases its quantity, used in shampoos, body washes, liquid soaps, facial cleansers, and lotions and creams. It is alsoused in the manufacture of conditioners to enhance the effect of conditioning agents, massage preparations, exfoliating gels, shower gels, etc.

It is mild, non-irritating to the skin and only slightly irritating to the eyes when the product penetrates. It is a great emollient, soothing and moisturizing the skin. They cover the skin with a protective film that traps moisture, thus preventing the skin from drying out again. Emollients are often used to help manage dry, itchy or scaly skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and ichthyosis. They help prevent inflammation and the reoccurrence of skin problems.

Due to its composition, it also enhances the effectiveness of preservatives.

Compared to Glyceryl Caprylate ,it provides a wider range of functions and better properties in cosmetic products, especially in terms of product stability and its overall efficacy.

It is PEG- and EO/PO-free and nitrogen-free.

Glyceryl Caprylate/Caprate is added to cosmetic formulations depending on the specific product and the desired effect. The recommended dosage is usually in the range of 0.5% to 5% of the total product formulation. It can be added to the oil phase during the emulsion manufacturing process as well as cold.

At temperatures up to 25°C it takes the form of a white thick paste.
