Product description

Preservatives are substances that help extend the life of your beauty products.

They fight bacteria, yeasts, fungi and moulds in cosmetics by stopping them from multiplying for a certain period of time. They are needed wherever you add water to your products. However, these properties predispose them to be poisonous or toxic in their pure state, their dosage in cosmetic products is minimal.

Dermosoft 1388 Eco Preservative is an antimicrobial blend that provides excellent protection for your cosmetic products. In addition, it also adds moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties to the product. It is certified by Ecocert.

You can use it in all kinds of cosmetic products from toners to gels and emulsions.
It provides excellent protection against bacteria and mould.

Dermosoft 1388 eco is recommended as a stand-alone water-soluble solution for water-based products where you are not applying any oil-soluble ingredient and want to avoid a solubilizer. You can increase its activity by using 0.1% natural chelating agent PA-3 (Chelating agents bind metal ions, especially iron and copper, and destabilize microorganisms, thus increasing preservative efficacy).

In emulsions it has a weak activity against yeasts - here we recommend to combine it with another preservative with a higher activity against yeasts, such as glyceryl caprylate GMCY (0.5%), especially if a high concentration of natural ingredients such as honey, aloe vera, clays and gums are used.

Dosage: 3.0-4.0%
pH: recommended range 5.0-5.5 (at pH lower than 5 the product becomes insoluble, at pH higher than 5.5 the preservative loses its activity, becomes less effective to ineffective)

Method of application: addition to the aqueous phase. In transparent liquids no solubiliser is needed.

All raw materials supplied are of cosmetic quality, not suitable for internal use. Use suitable protective equipment when handling.
