Product description

Cupuacu butter is obtained from the fruit of the tropical tree Theoroma grandiflorum and is an excellent substitute for cocoa butter (cocoa butter is produced from the true cacao tree Theobroma cacao). Cocoa butter is hard and its rich dark chocolate aroma will immediately kick-start your taste buds.

Cupuacu also smells like chocolate, but the aroma is greener, fresher and more penetrating. It's more like a hint of chocolate. It is a creamy-coloured solid butter with a distinctive aroma. It is wild harvested from the Amazon rainforest and the butter is cold pressed without any treatment.

Cupuacu butter is also called "vegetable lanolin" due to its very high water absorption capacity (200% more than lanolin), it retains water in a volume of up to 240% of its weight. Therefore, this butter helps moisture penetrate into hair with low porosity(excellent for hair masks and conditioning shampoos).

It contains a range of phytosterols which have an anti-inflammatory effect, scavenge free radicals and help the active ingredients penetrate the skin. It also softens the skin, helping to restore its natural moisture and elasticity.

It is excellent in skin care, in body butters and creams, it is very popular for application around the eyes and lips - lip balms, lipsticks.

Melting point: 30-32°C, does not contain any of the obligatory allergens.
