Product description

A fine and luxurious representative of cosmetic clays is the French clay also called Montmorillonite, after the city of its discovery. Like other clays, this type of cosmetic clay is rich in minerals such as calcium, silica, iron, manganese, potassium and sodium. This clay is particularly useful for cleansing the skin, as it contains negatively charged particles that can easily attract positively charged impurities.

In addition to effectively cleansing the skin, which is also appreciated by problematic or acne-prone skin, it helps tighten pores. It can improve texture and add softness to products in paste form. It does not dissolve in water or oils, but is miscible with water. Montmorillonite is usually used up to 50% of the total weight of the product.

The clays are miscible with water and insoluble in oils. It is suitable for normal to oily skin.

Cosmetic clays have been used for thousands of years to soothe, treat and cleanse the skin. They are purely natural and very easy to use for everyone.

Scientific studies have shown the following benefits of using cosmetic clays:

- stimulate the body's immune defences and regenerate cells

- improve the secretion of type I collagen

- fight inflammation IL1beta, IL6 and TNF alpha

- promote wound healing

- protects the top layer of the skin from urban smog

- visibly absorbs sebum after just 10 minutes of application

- absorbs unpleasant odours after 1 hour of application

Cosmetic clays can be used in the production of powders, face masks, creams, compresses, mud baths , etc. For instructions on how to make a powder face mask using cosmetic clays, visit our blog.

The cosmetic clays in our range come from France, where they are both mined and processed under strict standards. They are ECOCERT, COSMOS and NATRUE certified.
